When it comes to kitchen appliances, home influencer Jo Glossop values style and substance in equal measure. Not only does she have a deep-seated love for colourful and sleek retro-inspired interiors, she also lives in a house full of tea, coffee and water guzzlers.
Jo runs the successful Instagram account @retrojo5, where she shows off her love of design to more than 16,000 followers.
Alongside curating her colourful account, she is a busy mum-of-three and therefore values anything that saves her some time and gives her a bit of peace and quiet.
Much to Jo’s delight, INTU’s range of state-of-the-art boiling water taps have helped her save precious time spent preparing tea and coffee – while removing the need for her noisy kettle.
“The ease and quickness of having boiling water on tap was a big draw to us as both my husband and myself work from home, so we go through a lot of cups of tea a day. We also have three children that love cups of tea and hot chocolate.
“However, the biggest draw was that our kettle was so noisy! We have an open plan kitchen-diner-lounge, so every time someone boiled the kettle we couldn’t hear the TV.
“Getting a boiling tap has solved this problem, which is perfect for our lazy evenings with a cup of tea.”
As well as convenience, Jo also discovered how much the tap has helped her and her family cut down on single-use plastics.
“No more buying plastic bottles (and feeling smug saving the planet while we guzzle). I now always fill a decanter and keep it in the fridge meaning we’ve always got chilled filtered water.”
We supplied Jo with a 4OUR Square tap in matt black. She chose the colour to match her sink, while she chose the angular shape to compliment the clean lines of her kitchen units.
“We have a black sink and we definitely wanted a black tap so it would help feel like the tap and sink were united,” she says. “We used to have a swan neck tap, but when we saw the square tap we just loved the modern shape so we opted for that.”
She was able to install the tap mostly by herself which, once she’d watched the installation video, took her under an hour to complete.
“It was very easy to set up,” she says. “My tip would be to watch the installation video on the INTU website. That, along with the booklet, makes it really simple.”
Since she installed the tap, Jo has shared to her followers how much easier her INTU boiling water tap has made her life.
“We’re all still obsessed with having hot water on tap. As a family of five, we drink so many hot drinks, it’s been a total game changer.
“There’s no waiting around for the kettle to boil. I definitely couldn’t live without our INTU tap now.
“As well as boiling water, filtered water on tap has also been a revelation! We now fill a carafe with filtered water and keep it in the fridge. It’s perfect.”
